The Urban Chiefs are set to shake the foundations of the Agnes Blues, Roots, & Rock Festival in February 2026 with their massive sound that’s fiery enough to weld a car axle.
Psyche-Blues-Stoner-Rock two-piece The Urban Chiefs have been tearing up stages since 2009. Blake Saban (guitars and vox) runs an arsenal of custom guitars through multiple amps and a bass rig, building a sound so massive it shakes the floor. His gravel-soaked vocals cut through the chaos, while Glendon Finlay’s tribal, hard-hitting ‘drumcussion’ drives it all like a freight train.
There’s no samples, no tricks; just two guys making one hell of a noise.

The Urban Chiefs have been making a name for themselves along the East Coast of Australia, playing festivals and venues to receptive audiences from Cairns down to Tassie and everywhere in between.
In a short time, The Urban Chiefs have achieved a great deal, gaining Top 5 Blues and Roots Artist in the 2013 MUSICOZ Australian Independent Music Awards. Second release ‘City of Light’ debuted at #18 in the Australian Blues & Roots Airplay Charts and the band have had various songs aired on Triple J and Double J along with film clips aired on Rage. 2025 will see them record and release their fifth studio album, and the pair are set to embark on another national tour to promote the new record.
