Genre-bending world journeyman artist Palumbo is getting ready to rock the Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival in February 2026, performing on the Discovery Stage in an immersive live music journey that will showcase decades of global music experience.
Dion Palumbo is a songwriter and performer with a sound that bridges continents and eras. From Sydney to Liverpool, London to Berlin, his music fuses Americana, blues and folk with the raw energy of classic rock.
Palumbo’s latest album ‘Tales From The Big Smoke’ showcases his heartfelt storytelling and driving grooves that really come alive on stage with vocals, guitar and loop pedal. With a raw rock sound at its heart, the album was recorded in London and Berlin, produced with Simon Willey (Bryan Ferry) and highlights Dion’s storytelling craft and genre-bending style.
Palumbo’s creative career began in Sydney with the band Wizard at Metro Theatre, before he moved to the UK and immersed himself in the thriving Liverpool and Manchester scenes. Over 12 years in London he fronted his own projects, studied production at LCCM and collaborated with Bangladeshi folk star Shapla Salique. Dion’s nine-piece project ‘Palumbo and the Funk’ gained international acclaim with their releases ‘Rock The Fund’ and ‘All The Rage We Are’.
Palumbo’s performance credits include Glastonbury, Leeds Festival, the London 2012 Paralympics and Woodford Folk Festival. His music has received airplay on BBC Introducing, Triple J and beyond, and he has supported acts such as Machine Gun Fellatio.
Now based in the Blue Mountains, Palumbo continues to light up stages and deliver unforgettable performances that channel decades of experience, a fearless energy and rock ‘n’ roll heart.
