SUPERB STORYTELLER:  JOE MAN MURPHY RETURNS TO #AGNESBLUESFEST 2027

The Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival will be doubling the fun this summer, bringing back the fan favourite Discovery Stage alongside the main Marquee Stage from 19 – 21 February 2027 at the SES Grounds, Town of 1770.

Among almost 20 artists set to ignite the vibrant, intimate Discovery Stage will be Festival circuit favourite Joe Man Murphy, hailing from Ireland but now calling Queensland home. Joe Man has performed at #AgnesBluesFest on several occasions in the past, both solo and as a member of high energy group Gypsyrumble. The world class live music event can’t wait to welcome him back to Central Queensland and their line-up again in 2027. 

Joe Man Murphy is a Folk-Roots artist whose music is deeply influenced by his nomadic upbringing and love for storytelling. With over 35 years of guitar playing under his belt, Joe Man‘s performances are a testament to his mastery of the instrument, complemented by his enchanting voice that effortlessly moves audiences from laughter to tears.

For over a decade, Joe Man has been an integral part of Adelaide band, The Timbers, contributing his songwriting skills to their last two albums. Their collective musical journey has taken them on extensive tours throughout Australia, captivating audiences with their heartfelt performances.

Joe Man Murphy will be enchanting the #AgnesBluesFest Discovery Stage from 6.15-7.00pm on Friday 19 February 2027 with an unforgettable performance of internationally-influenced, superb story-telling.

Designed to complement the Marquee Stage program within the vibrant Festival precinct at the 1770 SES Grounds and about to celebrate its seventh year, the Discovery Stage encompasses the blues, roots and rock genres within a relaxed, intimate atmosphere; getting up close and personal and showcasing original music performed by an eclectic range of entertaining regional artists from Central Queensland and beyond.
