Regional Queensland singer-songwriter Blake Benecke will make his Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival debut and open the intimate, chill-vibe Discovery Stage in February 2026 with an authentic, heartfelt performance inspired by a love of the land and the ocean.
Blake Benecke is an authentic, heartfelt singer-songwriter from Monto Queensland. Growing up in a small town in Central Queensland provided him with plenty of inspiration to create a unique mixture of raw folk, blues, and country sounds.
Blake‘s creative inspiration flows from an equal love of the land and the ocean. He discovers and writes new, connective stories through his own wanderings through life, aiming to connect with his music through emotion and a personal perspective that people can relate to.
Blake’s performances are vibrant and full, showcasing loop pedal layering and a mix of guitar percussion, fingerstyle playing, strumming, stomp box and harmonica. He is a firm crowd favourite at events such as the Mundubbera Blueberry Festival, where he has performed numerous times and honed his craft to get better and better with every appearance.
Blake Benecke creates songs around resonant themes such as hardship, travel, and love. His new EP “HEADIN’ NORTH” consists of 4 brand new tracks and was recorded in the Byron Bay hinterland with artist and producer Will Hearn. Blake believes that Will has helped him find and showcase the sound that has long been held in his head: a natural fusion between coastal folk and indie country.
Journey from land to sea with the multi-talented Blake Benecke making his debut and opening the #AgnesBluesFest Discovery Stage from 4.15 to 5.00pm on Friday 20 February 2026. This unmissable performance will have you spellbound from the very first to very last note of the set.
