August River Streetwalk

2021 Line Up: August River Band

Punchy Brisbane based trio August River Band are set to light up the main Marquee Stage at #AgnesBluesFest in just a few weeks’ time with their intoxicating show. They’re super keen to get jamming love and colour into the Festival with a juxtaposed fusion of genre-bending sounds that have to be seen to be believed!

This three-piece, alternative originals outfit punches you right in the gut. Tightly arranged, odd time signatures dissolve into soaring choruses which unapologetically push the boundaries of genre, whilst maintaining a soulful beckoning of the dark and the beautiful. They describe their music as “like crying whilst dancing”. The culmination of 2 years’ work, they released their debut album ‘Thank You Pain’ in October 2020, launching it with a live show at the Tivoli in Brisbane.

August River Band offers a wild and beautifully juxtaposed chemistry between the tortured singer songwriter (Eev Ferreira), the classically trained violinist (Lil Burrows) and the hard-hitting rock and roll drummer (Gerard Kerr). Major influences range from The Police, Dave Matthews, Midnight Oil, Edward Elgar, Foo Fighters and Radiohead.
