Three Main Acts for the Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival

Headlining the festival are The Black Sorrows who have earned the reputation as a dynamic live act. There is a level of accessibility to The Black Sorrows that can appeal to the newest of fan. At the helm, Joe Camilleri steers the band through an energetic interplay of solid grooves and well-crafted songs that mix those well-worn ingredients of blues, soul, R&B, gospel, country and even Brill Building pop. Spontaneous (forget setlists) and emotionally driven, Joe ensures that no two performances are ever the same. Camilleri’s mantra is simple “we come to play and leave the audience feeling exhilarated”.

Sensational Blues and Roots trio The Backsliders have been playing, touring the festival circuit and recording for over 25 years and we are honoured to have them grace our stage in February.

“Sounds like Janis Joplin & Angus Young had a baby and baptised it in Bourbon”. – Rolling Stone. Dallas Frasca is a band, not just named after the lead singer, that namesake front woman Dallas and guitarist Jeff Curran are the driving force of the Melbourne based trio. The unconventional songwriters are two guitars, vocals and a beast behind the kit. They fit somewhere in between blues riffed The Black Keys, and the incredible full-throated wail of Janis Joplin.
