JOE MAN MURPHY TO DOUBLE UP AT #AGNESBLUESFEST 2023

Irish born Folk/Blues & Roots artist, Joe Man Murphy now calls Australia home and is beloved of many in the Australian Folk Festival community. As well as performing on the Marquee Stage, Joe is also set to perform on the more intimate Discovery Stage at #AgnesBluesFest in 2023.

A true singer-songwriter and storyteller, Joe draws on 20 years of performing and touring the world in his must-see stage shows. Music for him is an addiction, a way of life, sharing his Irish roots blended with Australian experience. Like all Irish performers, his stories are often hilarious, based on real life events and lead into well-crafted, world-class songs; leaving audiences feeling connected and wanting to know more.

As a songwriter, Joe brings his gathered stories to life on guitar, ukulele and banjo with charming vocals in his solo shows. A multi-instrumentalist, he captivates audiences with stories from a life well lived accompanied by a thumping sound and guitar wizardry.

Joe has performed at the National Folk Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Tablelands Festival and Majors Creek Festival, to name a few. He also performs with Festival faves, Adelaide band The Timbers and penned songs on their last two albums.

His latest creative project and biggest undertaking of his music and art career so far, ‘9 Lives’, will be officially released at this year’s Woodford Folk Festival. The album will showcase 9 of his original songs in tandem with 9 of his own original artworks that were created especially for the project.
