INTERNATIONAL ACT KISSING THE FLINT TO CREATE SPARKS AT #AGNESBLUESFEST 2024

Home-grown Gladstone and now international artist Kissing The Flint will return from her current base in the UK to rock the #AgnesBluesFest main Marquee Stage in 2024 with her Australian band, joining official ambassador 8 Ball Aitken in a stellar line-up of performers.

Leah Chynoweth-Tidy is a multi-award nominated Australian singer-songwriter and proud Gladstone Region girl now flying the international flag with her original music. She created performing project ‘Kissing The Flint’ (translation: ‘creating a spark’) in 2015 to focus on her original songs and connect their powerful energies with a global audience. She has since performed at numerous venues, events and Festivals in both hemispheres.

Authenticity and emotion flow through Leah’s connective songwriting and empowering live performances fueled by a powerful, versatile voice. Song themes flow from an adventurous spirit with crystal clarity of message and vivid imagery drawn from experience, empathy and imagination.

From one mesmerising moment to the next, this dynamic performer with a steampunk edge moves easily from roots beauty to sultry rock raunch in explorations of the human condition, a genuine desire to empower others and a lifelong affinity with the natural world.

Following on from her debut EP ‘Unconditionality’ recorded at High Lion Studio near Gladstone in 2019, Leah then released two singles ‘100 Or Less’ and ‘Dune Girl’ in 2021-22 from her sophomore album due to be released later this year. A celebration of why we love to live, work and play around our coastline, as well as modern-day, empowered surfer girls, ‘Dune Girl’ was recently shortlisted for this year’s Australian Songwriting Assocation Inc (ASAI) awards.

An as-yet unreleased track from the forthcoming album, ‘All We Can Do’ received the honour of making the final Top 10 in the indie-rock category of the 2021 ASAI awards and also a commended in Leah’s first ever UK Songwriting Competition 2022. This versatile artist was also nominated for Australian Celtic Song of the Year in 2020 for ‘Fare Thee Well Lament’.

Kissing The Flint can’t wait to be back on home soil for the first time in 4 years and are all fired up to create sparks on the #AgnesBluesFest 2024 Marquee Stage as part of their Australian tour.
