DOUBLE UP AND DISCOVER ORIGINAL MUSIC AT #AGNESBLUESFEST 2023

The 2023 Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival will sizzle next summer with double the music fun and the
return of the supporting Discovery Stage. Designed to complement the Marquee Stage program within the vibrant Festival precinct at the 1770 SES Grounds, the Discovery Stage is going from strength to strength moving into its third year since its debut in 2020.

The Discovery Stage encompasses the blues, roots and rock genres within a relaxed, intimate atmosphere; getting up close and personal and showcasing original music performed by an eclectic range of entertaining regional artists from Central Queensland and beyond.

One of those artists will be multi-award-winning North Queensland singer/songwriter Robert Cini, with deeply melodic songs infusing genres of folk, blues, soul, pop, rock and country. He has a truly unique aura on stage and an ability to capture audiences with a powerful soulful voice and intuitive guitar playing.

Stemming from his debut album ‘Imaginary Fun’ which showcases an authentically raw, earthy sound and prodigious songcraft, Robert’s original song ‘Different Road’ won Best Song Folk/Acoustic Award at the 2019 Australian Songwriters Association (ASA) Awards in Sydney and the same night he also won Best Live Performance after taking to the stage to perform it to a record sold-out crowd. ‘Different Road’ was inspired by Robert’s personal journey of living with a vision impairment and like many of his songs receives regular rotation on Queensland, interstate, and overseas radio. It follows the previous success of his self- titled EP and the ASA award winning track ‘Haven’t You Noticed’.

Robert has been a top 5 finalist/nominee in other major Australian song competitions including the MusicOz Awards (AIMA’s) and the Glenn Shorrock Music Scholarship Award. Recognising his talent among thousands of artists from around the country, Australian music legend Glenn Shorrock (The Little River Band) said “Great voice, engaging commercial sound, fabulous”. Robert ultimately got to perform with his fellow finalists, The Little River Band and James Reyne at Lyndoch Uncorked Festival in the Barossa Valley.

Robert has also supported Kim Churchill, The Acoustic Guitar Spectacular, Woodford Folk Festival’s ‘Festival of Small Halls’ and performed at Savannah in the Round Festival along with Troy Cassar-Daley, John Butler, Lee Kernaghan, Busby Marou and many more.

A live film clip of Robert’s song ‘Running’ was featured as an Editor’s choice on Balcony TV New York, racking up 19k+ views. He has earned international recognition with Finalist spots and Honourable mentions in ‘The Billboard World Song Contest’, ‘We Are Listening’ (Nashville), and ‘The UK Songwriting Contest’.

Don’t miss Robert Cini on the #AgnesBluesFest Discovery Stage 2.15-3pm Saturday 18 Feb 2023 and 11-11.30am Sunday 19 Feb 2023 https://www.robertcini.com/music
