He’s Back! Australian-born, Nashville, Tennessee-based, singer, songwriter, slide guitar player and festival favourite, 8 Ball Aitken returns to grace our stage with his sensational live performance. Event Manager, Sharon Hare says, ‘Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival love 8 Ball Aitken and we are looking forward to having him back in the Funky Town of 1770 to perform at our festival and all get our 8 Ball fix!’
8 Ball, as his unusual name suggests, is cut from a different mold. He throws a highly energetic and engaging performance, using humour padded with a combination of guitars including an impressive cigar box. He is the, ‘legal shot’, and sits deep in the pocket of collaborating audience engagement with grooving music like the white ball sinking the black.
8 Ball released his 10th Album SWAMP BLUES in 2018 with it debuting at #2 on the Australian Blues Music Charts and the single, ‘High Water’, went on to take the #1 position on the AMRAP AIRIT Radio Charts. It’s his most celebrated album to date, following other highly acclaimed albums such as, ‘Rebel with a Cause’ and, ‘Southern Hemisphere’. Other industry praised singles include, ‘She’s going to Mexico, I’m going to Jail’ and ‘Hand’s on top of the wheel’.
The Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival is held every February in Seventeen Seventy, in the Gladstone Region, also famously known for being the closest point to take a day trip to the Great Barrier Reef’s Sensational Deep South.
